History of Venus Restaurant

Venus Restaurant and Catering, formerly known as Venus Pancake House, was established in 1977 by partners Steven Doulaveris and George Frangakis. For nearly 50 years, Venus has been serving quality food at reasonable prices. What began in 1977 as a small 24-hour diner with only 80 seats steadily grew over the decades, expanding to welcome more guests from all across the Florence community.

In 2000, Steven Doulaveris passed ownership of Venus to his wife, Helen Doulaveris, his son, William Doulaveris, and his son-in-law, Constantine Perivolaris. In 2022, Constantine Perivolaris and his wife, Renee, became the sole owners of Venus.

In 2011, the restaurant’s name changed from Venus Pancake House to Venus Restaurant and Catering to better reflect its full range of services. The catering side of the business has grown tremendously over the years and continues to expand. Today, Venus caters breakfast and lunch to many medical offices in and around Florence, as well as surrounding areas such as Darlington, Hartsville, Marion, Dillon, Camden, Bennettsville, and Sumter.
