History of Venus Restaurant

Venus Restaurant and Catering, formerly known as Venus Pancake House, was established in 1977 by partners Steven Doulaveris and George Frangakis. For 40 years, Venus has been serving quality food at reasonable prices. In 1977, Venus started out as a small 24-hour diner only seating 80 people. Over the next couple of decades, the business grew and expanded for more seating capacity.

In 2000, Steven Doulaveris passed Venus’ ownership onto his wife Helen Doulaveris, his son William Doulaveris, and his son-in-law Constantine Perivolaris. Shortly after, their catering services were expanded to better serve Florence and the surrounding areas.

In 2011, the restaurant’s former name Venus Pancake House was changed to Venus Restaurant and Catering to better define its services. The catering service has grown tremendously, and it is still growing. Venus currently caters breakfast and lunch to many medical offices in and around Florence every day. Other areas include Darlington, Hartsville, Marion, Dillon, Camden, Bennetsville, Sumter, and even Columbia — just to name a few. Venus not only caters its famous breakfast and lunch food, but formal menu options for wedding receptions, engagement parties, holiday parties, etc. are also available.
